Ashwell Road Oakham Rutland to be closed for works 21st December 2016 to 22nd December 2016

all vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the length of Ashwell Road
from its junction with Burley Road to Queens Road.

The duration of the Closure shall be as follows: from  21st  December 2016 to
22nd December 2016

The Most Disliked Railway Crossing Footbridge Oakham Rutland To get a make over

South Street footbridge in Oakham is to close for four days from Monday to Thursday while work is carried out to replace metal panels with mesh.

Ever since the bridge was installed is has been hated and nothing has been done.

Rutland County Council have now been able to organise the work,
pedestrians will need to use the crossings on Brooke Road or Barleythorpe Road instead.

Last time it was the bypass weekend after weekend in the summer temporary
traffic lights were stuck on red.

This time its the roundabout in town at the junction of the High Street, Mill
Street, Catmos Street and Burley Road. All Lights were stuck on red this morning.

When the lights are working some drivers ignore them like the giant Ellis
Truck this morning adding to the congestion and blocking Burley Road.

The person responsible for these lights blames interference from Wi Fi devices.

I think this is a little taste of what is to come next year over a period
of nine months when all electricity and water supply connections are replaced
in Mill Street and the High Street.
