Oakham Mayor and Rutland County Councillor Adam Lowe says the town of Oakham has awful lot going for it, 'the weather', 'meant to have low crime' and 'Oakham has wonderful views and is unique', he went on to talk about Uppingham and how he love Uppingham sometimes more than Oakham especially the way it appears to be stepping back in time.
referring to the development of Oakham, he mentioned the proposal to build 40 new homes on former
allotments in Brook Road, questioning if we let that development go through will this cause Oakham to be developed into a monstrosity? He said Stamford and Uppingham have got it right. Finally he suggested Oakham was creaking a bit and said any new development must be 'right building in the right place for the right reason'
