Oakham Mayor Cllr Joyce Lucas show a common lack of manners
amongst Oakham Town Councillors. If i attempt to photograph them
at public events they turn their back on me as the Mayor did at this
mornings public service. Afterwards I attempted to have a chat with
the Mayor who once again turned her back on me telling me I am
"Missus Lucas to you Martin" so I attempted to have a word with
Bob, he said " if you  don't go away I will report you to the police fro stalking"
Silly people who do they think they are as they would away I continued to
talk to Bob about the harassment I have received from members of
the council and his response was "believe me Mr Brookes I have not
started properly harassing you yet" Well at least I will know where to
send the police if  he carries out his threat. The people don't scare me anymore.

One day  we will have a Town Council that is selfless and accountable to
the people of our town I am sure. The one good thing about this photograph
is it clearly shows how the town council squanders your money despite
the Mayor moaning constantly about the weight and length the civic chain
she recently spent tax payers money adding extra links engraved with
former Mayors names. This time the cost was a third of the normal
cost because I insisted when  I was a councillor she obtained quotes.
despite this the whole chain is valued at about £18,000 and I am

told it is stored in her handbag in case she needs it? She has suggested this
chain is put into storage and a new lighter chain is bought at a cost of £3000
I think the answer is stop wasting tax payers money and stop adding links.

Hot Cross Buns were given out along the route.
The Rutland Times estimated a turn out of 250
I did a quick head count and came nearer 100
