Sacrewell open day, Great North Road, Peterborough, PE6 8HJ

Sacrewell open day

Great North Road
Peterborough
PE6 8HJ

Saturday January 24th

Roll up, roll up, to find out what’s in store at Sacrewell in 2015 as the centre opens its doors for free for one day only.

On 24 January, admission fees will be wavered into Sacrewell so that staff can tell all visitors about what they have in store for what promises to be a very exciting year, and start the year with some great promotional offers.

Visitors will be able to find out about planned events for the year including a star party on 21 February, a traditional spring fair on 3 and 4 May and tons of summer fun.

Marketing executive Megan Allen said: “Sacrewell is part of the William Scott Abbott Trust, now in its 51st year as a local food and farming charity.

“We want to offer this opportunity to everyone who has visited Sacrewell in the past or has never been and is curious to see what we have here, so that they can discover for themselves that Sacrewell has something for everyone. From heritage enthusiasts to young parents, budding photographers to animal lovers, we’ve got it covered.”

Sacrewell’s HLF Watermill Project is due to be completed in May and at the half-way point, project officers will be talking to visitors about what has happened and the next steps, as well as our grand plans to re-launch the mill later in the year.

If you are interested in camping and caravanning, birthday parties or school visits, you can pick up plenty of information, or book your event in advance.

Speak to the team at Origin8 at Sacrewell to find out about their catering options and sample a taster of what they have on offer.

The Playbarn will of course be open, and for one day only we’ll be running a membership offer for new customers who can take advantage of a 20 per cent discount off their membership.

Mrs Allen added: “A lot of people in the area think they know Sacrewell and have us pinned as a farm park for children but we’re not. We hope that after our open day, people will see us in a new light and will be paying us a visit more often.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing some old faces among the new as well, and hope they’ll become regulars in the near future.”

Eduardo Vassallo will be our soloist in Elgar’s autumnal Cello Concerto and soprano Marian Porter in Vaughan Williams’ 3rd Symphony ‘Pastoral’. Butterworth lost his life in the trenches and we perform ‘A Shropshire Lad’ as a tribute to the fallen in what was meant to be “The war to end all wars”.
