Pasta Freshly Made

Jamie's Italian, 22 Chequer Street, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 3YD, Photographs

We booked Saturday for Sunday, the place looked packed on both days.

When we arrived Sunday, we were welcomed by friendly staff and the manager.

We were directed to the bar and watched as the barman make fresh cocktails.

Very refreshing these were charged to our key.

After a short time we were shown to a table near to the back of the restaurant, a little close to a door
and the flow of waiters working hard to serve food. I asked the waitress if we could move.

"No problem" another table was set.

While we took a look at the menu we enjoyed a selection of Italian Bread, Homemade rosemary focaccia, sourdough, crispy "music bread", ciabatta & tortano, dipped in a very tasty extra virgin olive oil & aged balsamic.

For our starter we enjoyed Italian Nachos, Crispy fried four-cheese ravioli with a very spicy arrabiata sauce.

All Freshly made pasta using this machine

All freshly cooked here

For our main course I enjoyed the special of the day Norfolk Roast Pork with Seasonal Roast Veg.

The waitress very attentive asked if we wanted any sauces?
I requested some apple. I always enjoy a good apple sauce with pork.

My friend asked for ketchup, for his Posh Chips.

This was provided, there was no apple sauce, the waitress
brought me some extra sauce / gravy
This was delicious and went well with the Polenta Chips (side order) these are
crispy fried with rosemary and Parmesan.

The Posh Chips did not arrive, but looking at them on the table next to me probally
best they were removed from my friends bill, a few chips for a few pounds!

My friend enjoyed Free-Range Chicken with Grilled garlic & rosemary with tomato, olive, chilli & caper sauce.

For desert I enjoyed Tiramisu and my friend chose the healthy option?
Sorbet made with fresh fruits.

The service was very good, the food very tasty.

We enjoyed good service from our waiter, The duck was good although it seemed the kitchen had gone a considerable long way to shoot it!
