Tesco Oakham Supported Homophobic and Sexual Harassment In The Work Place.

Tesco Oakham Supported Homophobic and Sexual Harassment In The Work Place.

When I worked for Tesco it was common knowledge that I gay, this caused one of colleagues to have a bit of fun at my expense. What started as a little banter ended in a formal complaint as the colleagues behaviour become more and more unacceptable. The colleague very publicly decided she wanted to marry me and this was discussed openly in the colleague room many found it amusing.
Whilst working at the checkouts the colleague on more than one occasion pushed a large security money checker pen up between my legs from behind can you imagine the trouble I would be in if it was me doing it that to her. When I asked her nicely to stop she laughed and said why? you enjoy that sort of thing don't you The last time she told people on the shop floor she was going to marry me, I said, do you not know I am gay, she replied that's no problem I will buy a strap-on.
As this behaviour continued I became upset and just wanted it to stop, I shared this with friends who said I should complain, so I did, one of my friends also spoke to the colleague asking her to stop, the friend also spoke to Jen Drew the store manager, she tells me at first Jen found it all amusing and was looking forward to a store wedding!

An investigation Tesco Oakham Style was carried out and no action was taken against the colleague. mainly because she said she could not remember doing or saying anything.
