Mini Art in Lyddington

Mini Art in Lyddington

Saturday 29 October. - Sunday 30 November

An important and successful charity fund raising fine art exhibition with mini sized works. Precious things come in small packages.

This year there is much needed restoration of windows in St Andrew’s Church so the exhibition is being held in the Village Hall in Lyddington. There will be fewer work of fine arts but it is a mini version exhibition so all the works are also mini!

Painters, print makers, mixed media and textile artists are rising to the challenge and working to a common size of frame. Sculptors and ceramicists have a double challenge of making pieces small but also light. There is as much if not more skill and work in making something fine, precious and small.

This is a major charity fundraising event to raise much needed support for the further repair and maintenance of the magnificent, medieval Church building and for other charities which help local people in need.

Dr Sarah Furness, High Sheriff of Rutland opened the exhibition on Friday 28 October at 7 p.m. and gave prizes to the artists selected by principle judge Peter Jones, and his fellow judges. The exhibition prizes are sponsored by Great Art and Artists Info. Tickets for the preview are limited so please order quickly from Barbara@theoldparsonage.net

The exhibition opens on Saturday 29 October and closes at 5 p.m. on Sunday 30 November. It is open 10 -5 and tea and cakes will be available. Be sure not to miss this great opportunity to see and enjoy a very wide range of small and precious art work. Admission to the exhibition is free and all visitors are asked to vote for their favourite artist who will then receive a £100 Great Art voucher as the People’s Choice.

The exhibition is renowned for the high quality and wide range of fine art work and the mini exhibition will doubly so. The exhibition features art work from many well known local artists from Rutland as well as some from further away. All work is for sale and it is a great opportunity to see and purchase something special and unique. There will be something to delight everyone at this exhibition and for very reasonable prices to suit every purse.
