As readers know, I am no longer a Town Councillor / Parish Councillor so I publish this without fear, accept the possibility of further harassment from a few Councillors and his chums. As threatened by Mr Lucas the husband of the Mayor Cllr Joyce Lucas on Friday "I have not really started the harassment against you yet! , the ball is in your court Martin"
Anyway at this weeks council meeting, Councillors will consider and possible put in place The Oakham Town Council Investment Strategy .
Yes each week that passes we find Oakham Town Council does not have a policy for this or that and
I have been subjected to harassment from people like Cllr Adam Lowe for pointing these out.
It is good to see the council is now putting the required changes down on paper, of course this looks very good on paper but if you don't apply the changes what is the point?
One of the most annoying things is when I pointed out the Clerks ability for accounting was crap, he complained. Of course maybe I should not have used the word crap to describe such poor standards of work. This was endorsed buy a qualified London accountant.
I would like to know what word Cllr Dr Guthrie used? Dr Guthrie I fear is a wasted talent on Oakham Town Council.he is one of the few Cllrs who has a brain not switched to destroy Martin Brookes.
Cllr Guthrie has for some time been doing the job of the Clerk and preparing documents the Clerk is paid to do.
If Dr Guthrie is to continue working unpaid to sort out the financial side of Oakham Town Council.
Why is the tax payer still paying the Clerk the highest wage a Clerk can possible earn?
There are less opening hours for him to deal with the public and walking past the office it seems to be empty more and more in the afternoons. His role is meant to be part-time. The closing of his office blinds is the biggest give away, If he does not want people to notice he should leave them open?
The Mayor did in the past attempt to sort this out, by saying at the staffing committee "I have told him, he is not indispensable"
The council was told by an outside body they could not make him clock in and out because his role is meant to be a position of trust.
With the Clerks salary making up a large percentage of the 80% running costs, I imagine he laughs at the tax payer every time he checks his bank statement.
We have seen Cllrs like Dr Guthrie before come and go, because they don't want to play along Cllrs Lucas, Haworth, Nowell, Dewis and Lowe rather nasty childlike games. Not wishing to offend real Christians nost off these people claim to be just that, Christian!
Cllr Lowe is a perfect example of one they won over and look what it got him a harassment order and a resignation from his role as a Special Constable with Leicester Constabulary, for being such a naughty boy.
I wonder what magic powers Cllr Lucas and the others have over these people. Because Adam started so well, even writing to a nice letter which I gave to standards in which he admitted the others were bullies.
Then he told me Cllr Lucas sent him a stern email suggesting he should not join up with Brookes
I wonder how they have rewarded him for his loyalty and losses he has incurred by joining them, because I am sure they have? they seem very happy to have a Cllr sitting along side them who is subject to a harassment order. Although I am told a nearby council once had a Cllr work from prison and then attend meetings wearing a tag on release. Rehabilitation offenders is a good thing but maybe that was a little to soon.
I do hope Cllr Guthrie keeps up the good work and maybe the people of Oakham will be treated to an election to rid our town council of some of the unelected garbage that surrounds him. I sure he has enough up top to stay out of the Lucas gang... unlike poor Adam.
