Showaddywaddy Band Member Mr David Graham co-opted as Councillor for Oakham Town Council Oakham South ward

Showaddywaddy Band Member Mr David Graham co-opted as Councillor for Oakham Town Council Oakham South ward

David Graham is the owner of DG Music and The Piano Cafe South Street Oakham Rutland. He is also a former Oakham School Music Teacher and past member of Showaddywaddy. He is rejoining the band as saxophonist and guitarist for more than 100 gigs the tour starts this month and runs until the band's 50th anniversary in 2023. I wonder how this will affect his commitment to serve Oakham residents and his attendance?

Statement from Rutland County Council Leader, Councillor Oliver Hemsley regarding Travellers Christian Festival event at Rutland Showground

Statement from Rutland County Council Leader, Councillor Oliver Hemsley regarding Travellers Christian Festival event at Rutland Showground

It has been a challenging weekend for many of the county’s residents and businesses, and I would like to thank all residents for your support and patience.

Rutland County Council was not made aware of this event as no event application was submitted in advance.

Our standard event procedures require for event organisers to submit an event application and risk statements, which enable partners to review to ensure all aspects of an event – from health and safety, including compliance with Covid-19 regulations through to traffic management – are compliant. Unfortunately, without prior notification, the Council and its partners were unable to do this.

We have been working closely with partners, especially the Police, to manage and respond to the immediate issues arising from this event, including putting in place increased patrols across our community.

Officers will be undertaking traffic management at key times, including school drop off and pick up, and will also be located at areas that are attracting increased numbers.

Plans are underway to ensure minimal disruption to the community at key points in the event, for example the event closing.

There is ongoing communication with the event organiser. We have reviewed their event procedures and documentation and will be making relevant recommendations to improve the running of this event to protect attendees and the wider community.

Additionally, we are looking to increase the numbers and presence of our Covid-19 Marshalls in our towns, offering PPE to the event organisers to distribute amongst participants and providing PPE to key shops.

I truly understand the concern that the events of this weekend have brought to the county and want to assure you that the Council and its partners are doing all we can to protect you.

Tory Deputy Leader, Cllr Terry King, Rutland County Council, Reported to Police for assaulting another Councillor

Tory Deputy Leader of Rutland County Council Left

Last week I reported  an incident that happened  at Rutland County Council after a meeting.

Today it has been confirmed the Deputy Leader of Rutland County Council, has been reported to the
police for an alleged assault.

It is alleged that Terry King assaulted another Councillor in the Council Car Park, he also accused that councillor and two others with feeding my blog with information.

Good to see Tory Mr King is showing his true colours once more.

Now that Leicestershire Police appear to be taking a different approach towards those who make
complaints against Tory Bullies like Cllr King, I am considering making an additional complaint, the Standards Committee at Rutland County of which Cllr Terry King rather oddly is a member. approved his assault against me. This was witnessed by another Rutland County Councillor and it would seem the committee ignored his written account of what was disgraceful conduct towards a member of the public.

At the time I did not make a report to the police because I was aware of Cllr Kings very close relationship
with Inspector Monks now longer based in Rutland.

This afternoon I telephoned Rutland County Council for a comment and they responded by saying they won't  be making any comment

I telephoned Rutland and Melton Conservative Association, The nice lady on the end of the phone said she
knew nothing.

Tory Councillor terry King Rants at Rutland Anti Corruption Group

Tory Councillor Terry King Rants at Rutland Anti Corruption Group

It is alleged a senior Tory Councillor at Rutland County Council was ranting and spitting
fire at the 3 Councillors who form the Rutland anti corruption group.

It would appear the senior Tory accused them of being "behind my blog".

I am not sure what is meant by that.

The arguments continued outside the council chamber in the car park on Tuesday evening.

It is alleged the senior Tory Councillor stopped an independent councillor from entering his
car. The Cllr had to threaten the Senior Tory with the police if he did not go away and let him
enter his car.

I am so pleased I decide not to attend the meeting, I personally have experienced Cllr Kings
unacceptable rants. He is very scary and intimidating when he cracks.
