The parish church of Oakham is decorated ready for this evenings charity carol
concert.

Those who are lucky enough to have been able to obtain a ticket will be
treated to a super evening of music and readings.

The star of the concert this evening will be Mary Berry the Queen of Cakes.

Those who are attending will also receive a glass of wine and a supermarket
mince pie,

The good news is this year Rutland Radio is recording the concert for broadcast
on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
When I arrived at the church they were busy installing many microphones.

A sparkling evening of Christmas music will be provided by The Rutland Concert Band, led by Musical Director, Ian Halcrow, with the proceeds of the concert in aid of “Millie’s Fund”. Millie is local girl aged thirteen years who suffers from Rett Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects brain development, primarily in girls. Millie has never spoken and has severe mobility problems. Millie’s Fund has been set up in order to purchase some very special computer software that will enable Mille to interact with her computer using just the movement of her eyes.

Tickets are £8 for adults and £5 for students and can be obtained from Ford’s of Oakham in Church Street. The chapel can hold a maximum of 250 people so please buy early to avoid disappointment.

One report of the theft of two unsecured pedal cycles in Melton Rd, Oakham. This incident occurred between 0/11/2016 22:00 & 21/11/2016 08:00.
