Rumplestiltskin & the Wheel of Fortune, Stamford Arts Centre 27 St Mary's Street Stamford Lincs. PE9 2DL

Rumplestiltskin & the Wheel of Fortune
rumplestiltskin puppet

Sat 7 Sept 2pm

Poor Polly Buckwheat is in a pickle! If she doesn’t turn a roomful of straw into gold by morning, the greedy King will turn nasty. But should she accept the help of an eccentric dwarf who mysteriously appears in her prison cell?
Rumpelstiltskin is helpful yet demanding; secretive yet noisy; short yet owning a name as long as his beard. This story of transformation will make you laugh and gasp at the same time!

John Smith phil massey talk web

A talk by Guest Speaker John Smith

William Stukeley, noted 18th century antiquary and Vicar of All Saints, 1730-47,
was a keen student of architecture and an enthusiastic gardener. While in Stamford
he published his archaeological discoveries at Avebury and Stonehenge and these
much influenced his thoughts on garden design. He totally refurbished his Barn Hill
house, planned a Palladian triumphal arch spanning the road, and created an impressive
garden. John Smith is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London and this talk
is based on his research for an article in the Antiquaries Journal.

A new powerful two-handed version of the classic book by Robert Tressell.
A gem of Edwardian humorous theatre with songs and music of the time.
This hugely successful production tells the story of a group of painterdecorators
who are joined by artist Owen, whose spirited attacks onthe dishonesty of
Capitalism, along with his socialist vision, highlight exploitation in the workplace
and inequality in society. Relevant still, this tale is told with vigour and passion.
