THERE'S A MONSTER IN MY PIANO
6 OCT 2012
What do you do when you hear a strange munching noise inside a piano? Call the Piano Doctor of course. He might be able to help with his bag full of ears and his collection of weird and wonderful tools. But when he looks inside - the musical notes are packing their bags and running away. What are they scared of and who is hammering at the keys?
Children and adults alike will be delighted with this offbeat jazzy tale. Starring puppets, clowning, animation and a very highly strung monster indeed.
Puppet theatre for all ages over 4
This show is a part of Little Curve and will be hosted in Rehearsal Room 2.

24 - 25 OCT 2012
STUDIO PERFORMANCE
‘How I long to sail,’ said the tiny snail…
Tall Stories (creators of the Gruffalo and Room on the Broom stage shows) are proud to present their latest collaboration with Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.
A tiny snail longs to see the world, so she hitches a lift on the tail of a huge humpback whale.
Together they go on an amazing journey, experiencing sharks and penguins, volcanoes and icebergs. The little snail is amazed by it all, but starts feeling very small in the vastness of the world...
Then disaster strikes – the whale becomes beached in a bay... Can the tiny snail save the day?
Imaginative storytelling, lots of laughs and fantastic new music played live on stage.
Created in Tall Stories’ unique style, The Snail and the Whale mixes imaginative storytelling, lots of laughs and fantastic new music played live on stage – in a show for everyone aged 4 plus.
This show is a part of Little Curve and will be hosted in Rehearsal Room 2 as a part of our Half term treats.

STUDIO PERFORMANCE
'Ever wanted to be somebody else? I always wanted to be Bruce Lee - I share the same birthday as him, this must mean something, right? I'm a visual artist. For this show I've learnt a bit of Kung-Fu and Chinese. Don't worry, a contemporary dancer will translate everything into English. Expect a duet, interaction with video projections and some northern factory talk courtesy of my Dad.'
Following his acclaimed theatre debut TEN, Hetain retuns questioning how cultural our identities are constructed.
Co-commisioned by ROH2, London, Dance4, and NEw Art Exchange, Nottingham Development supported by Broadway Media Centre, Lakeside Arts Centre and Hatch, Nottingham, and South East Dance.

STUDIO PERFORMANCE
The journey into adulthood never runs smoothly.

Join them for an evening of comedy, storytelling, performance and projection as they chart their journeys from conception to their inevitable demise.
“These boys are one to watch. Fabulous performance of MAN. I loved it!”
BBC Radio Leicester’s Jonathan Lampon
“The delivery was excellent: a mix of Morecambe and Wise, Reeves and Mortimer and a hint of Ricky Gervais, but in a voice that was undoubtably their own”

CERTIFIED
20 - 29 SEP 2012
STUDIO PERFORMANCE
The international comedy hit that lifts the lid on all that secret men’s business makes its long-anticipated national debut after ten years of sell out seasons in seven countries.
The company is restructuring so it’s off for a weekend to the Tropics to brainstorm. Four executives leave the safety of their comfortable office and their £2,000 suits, and set off to a place that is far from home and full of surprises.
But all is not well in this island paradise and one of the men is not coming back. Perhaps it isn’t a man’s world after all.
Certified, starring Les Dennis and Christopher Timothy - the brutally frank and seriously funny new comedy, new to the UK.
“Certified is a crash course in performance styles. It is not enough that this sterling male quartet has to act, sing and dance. They also have to mime up a storm.
It's the physicality of this work, fused with clever writing that is the clincher.” The Independent
“Scott Rankin and Glynn Nicholas’s show digs deep into the wounded recesses of the modern male psyche, but it does so with the lightest of touches. Self-pity though is not the order of the day – joshing good humour is.” Daily Telegraph
