Oakham High Street, Litter Bin, Oakham Town Council, Rutland County Council

Trader nearby bus stops in Oakham High Street have raised concerns about litter discarded by people awaiting buses and Taxis outside their shops.

I approached Rutland County Council and asked if they could supply a bin. I received a response we don't have any money and we clear up the litter once each day and the presence of their enforcement officers would help deter littering? The cost of a bin is a little less than the amount RCC spends on catering at one of its many civic receptions.

Oakham Town Council members will be asked to consider if the Town Council can afford to purchase a bin,
attach it to one of these posts and then ask RCC to adopt it.

Cyclist and Pedestrian Accident Oakham High Street

Cyclist and Pedestrian Accident Oakham High Street

No photograph of the blood and gore, I left that to the many people who arrived with mobile phone cameras
I think its important record events but some you don't really need so much detail.

I was also fascinated by the large amount of spectators some of whom had brought coffee from Costa.

Around 2pm a cylist collided with a pedestrian on a crossing on Oakham High Street.

One person was taken to hospital by Air Ambulance, the helicopter landed in and departed from Cutts Close.
Many young people filmed its departure. Another person received emergency treatment for some hours in the back of an Ambulance. The high street remain closed until 5.30pm so police accident investigators could carry out their investigations.

PC A.... had no problem posing for this photograph, he is a keen photographer and he is very skilled with Photoshop, if you get a chance to look at his i-phone some very cleverly created and enhanced images.

Oakham High Street and Mill Street Photographs Open Eyes Mr Peter W Jones (Conservative) - OAKHAM SOUTH WEST WARD

Rutland County Councillor Mr Peter W Jones (Conservative) - OAKHAM SOUTH WEST WARD is forever knocking the west end of Oakham. He did it again at Tuesday's Council meeting

I don't understand why, just because the road he trades from is home for some traders who charge inflated prices and assume  that this is a sign of quality.

The West End does not look like this, nor does it look like Mill Street.

Below are some photographs of part of Oakham High Street and Mill Strret.

His mates from the old Rutland forum would often mock Melton Mowbray even though you won't find sights like this there.
