Oakham Mayor Cllr Alf Dewis, Rutland County Council, Chief Executive Helen Briggs

Oakham  Mayor Cllr Alf Dewis, Rutland  County Council, Chief Executive Helen Briggs

Are these two related?

Possibly?

Both run councils  in a dictatorial fashion.

Both could possibly be bullies.

Both have worked together at the same council.

Last year I made  three minor  complaints via e-mail to Oakham Town Council about their
staff.

Manners or lack of them and computer use.

The council claim it is impossible for computer usage data to be retrieved from their very basic
windows PC's. According to information and advice received from The Town Councils IT provider.
If this is true and its not, It does  not give a good impression of  Millennium Computer Services.

The police recently arrested a person who has committed various crimes against me and are currently
retrieving data from two computer to gain evidence to back up a taped interviewed confession.

Cllr  Dewis insists  it is the responsibility  of a complainant to provide evidence to back up complaints and
the council has no responsibility to investigate any complaint that is not backed up with evidence. It would  seem that ones word is not good enough for Cllr Dewis.

I suggest if you catch the clerk with a hangover when you call the town council by mistake and he rudely tells you its not the Town Council you want but RCC then record the call.

If you don't  you are likely to receive a long letter from Cllr Dewis.

"it could  be construed that you are on a 'fishing  expedition' seeking material for your blog"

Cllr Dewis clearing suffering from paranoia?

"I am not prepared to accept  uncorroborated allegations. You are apparently unable or unwilling to
support your accusations and therefore I will not progress this claim further."

I also recently  had to arrange for your emails to be 'spammed out' due to the offensive comments they contained  and advised that any future written correspondence form you will only be accepted by letter addressed to me. ....... I advice that any further complaints received from you will be returned without
action unless they are accompanied by evidence to support the claim you make.

Cllr Dewis surely would  fail to gain employment in customer service in any basic  organisation.

evidence? it looks like I have to restart recording face to face meetings I have with our wonderful  Town Council.

I visited a Tesco many years ago and member of staff was rude, I complained to Tesco, they did not bully me and demand evidence. They spoke to  the member of staff  and then wrote to me said they had investigated and they were sorry their member of staff was having a bad day.

Our councils are run by egotistic bullies who won't accept things can go wrong the slightest Criticism or complaint against about them must be stamped out, using any possible avenue.

The Town Council employ a Clerk who would even lie  to you if you asked him the time.

I am not sorry if the council find that sort of comment offensive.

I find the way I have been treated by this council over the  past 5 years and its supporter currently out on bail deeply offensive.

And the same is directed at the Tory Mob at Rutland County Council.

Cllr Dewis once said he enjoyed the politics of Rutland, Bullying, Homophobia and sexually depraved behaviour should have no place in Rutland Politics and as far as I am concerned it is not enjoyable!

How to Access Blocked Blogs and Sites using Rutland County Council Computers use a proxy server

Rutland County Council continue to block my blog on all their computers.

They lie about the possible uses of council computers, in the past they told me it s not possible for users to use proxy servers on any Council Computers.

So can they explain the photograph below taken yesterday, this is a council computer and my blog has been accessed. I don't object to this but I do object to this Councils constant lies. The people who misbehave know how to use proxy servers and do, so the continued block is only effecting decent well behaved members of the public.

So for those who ask me how you can view my blog at Rutland Library's and others sites Rutland County Council censors I suggest you type proxy server into any search engine and gain the freedom of the net you pay for and entitled to use. Happy Surfing!

Dear Mr Brookes

Further to your complaint (email dated 31st January 16:14).

I should like to start by apologising for the fact that the block on members of the public being able to access your blog from the computers in the library has been implemented without you having been informed in advance.

However, I am satisfied that it is the correct action for the Council to take in the circumstances.  You will recall that towards the end of last year we did ask whether you would like public access to be blocked in response to what both you and Council officers considered to be highly inappropriate and offensive material being uploaded when there was some reason to believe that the material was being posted from the library computers.  After initially supporting the idea, you quickly changed your mind, which you were quite entitled to do.  At that time the way in which the internet service was provided to the library would have made it difficult to arrange for the blocking of the website, so we complied with your request.

Mr Pook did advise you at that time that we were intending to install new arrangements which would enable the Council's own IT team to regulate access more directly.  It is the completion of that installation which has led to the blocking of access.  From the Council's point of view it is considered that some of the content which you are posting yourself is defamatory of certain individuals connected with the County Council, especially officers.  Further, enabling continued unrestricted access by the public risks the addition of yet more undesirable material of the type which you too have said you would like to cease.

Access is now blocked also as far as the wireless network in the Catmose meetings area is concerned.  The combination should eliminate the scope for  material offensive to you being posted by any association with the Council's systems, a development which I imagine you would welcome.

Rutland County Council OFFICER REMUNERATION Pay Rises

Unlike other Councils Rutland County Council is not that as transparent and does not make it easy to find the basic information other councils provide.

Most other councils make it easy to find details relating to Officer Renumeration, Rutland County hides these details like the loss huge losses made by Live@museum.

Rutland County Council has made many STAFF redundant, yet Senior staff  have received large pay rises. Carol Chambers pay is up from 75 k to 90 k. (no wonder she walks about looking like a Mill Street Shop window dummy, sorry drives around in her huge 4x4) the total number of Staff paid over 50 k up from 3 to 8 not including 2 new directors.

OFFICER REMUNERATION

The Council is required to disclose remuneration details by name of officers whose salary is
£150,000 or more. There is also a requirement to provide details by posts for officers whose
remuneration is between £50,000 and £149,999 or alternatively to provide a statement of the
number of officers whose remuneration falls within certain bandings. In this respect,
remuneration includes employer’s pension contributions and election fees.

In order to promote openness and transparency, the following table gives details by posts for
officers earning less than £150,000. There is no officer whose salary is £150,000 or more.

Reading this reminded me of Helen Briggs and Geoff Pook at Rutland County Council

Legal boss working for fatcat council chief Andrea Hill sent her suicide note citing 'demands placed on him'

A senior council officer who killed himself due to pressures at work left a  suicide note addressed to his controversial boss, an inquest heard yesterday.
David White, 51, hanged  himself in woodland after becoming depressed about his increasing workload.

 Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/news

The demands Fat Cat Boss Helen Briggs and her team of cowardly bullies place on the Head of Legal Services at Rutland County Council must be immense.

(Sorry I forgot Peterborough City Council now run his department)

Its clear from my experience of Rutland County Council the Head of Legal Services is often forced to bring his profession into disrepute. Mr Pook has often said to me, almost all I say is true, but its the way you say it. If this statement is true then why not support all of us who complain about the way Rutland County Council treats people instead appearing to be turning a constant blind eye?  (must be the big pay packet?)

Stop covering for the fat cats often illegal behaviour and lack of ability during the May elections just to name one set of incidents

Before long I should think his pressure will be reduced as she slowly puts herself out of a job.
Contracting out nearly all departments surely leaves her with little work to do and any justification to continue as the highly paid Chief Executive.

I have noticed the council critics are growing on Twitter she can't shut them all up for long.

Of course they can block them if they don't like what they see.  I was threatened by Rutland County Council for mentioning Council staff and Councillors by name on Twitter when referring to the new pool bikes.

Rutland County County Council sent me a direct message requesting I delete the messages and refrain from using names in further tweets or they will block me.

Censorship again! I don't think, so I blocked them I don't want to see the rubbish Helen Briggs sanctions as ok! to Tweet!

Rutland County Council Staff Banned from drinking clean fresh water

Rutland County Council provides customers and visitor with mineral water from expensive water stations.

I was shocked to hear Chief Executive Helen Briggs has banned staff from drinking this water as part of cost cutting.

I wonder why the council even bother spending this money in the first place, I think it would be better if the provided a water fountain connected to mains water.

Chief Executive Helen Briggs Orders Rutland County Council Staff to Ignore Times Headlines

Chief Executive Helen Briggs Orders Rutland County Council Staff, Ignore Rutland Times Headlines!

Rutland Councils Chief Executive told member of staff at this weeks staff meeting, ignore the Rutland Times headline?

Why? you just found £1 million in your draw. Surely the staff have a right to be annoyed, angry and questioning, when they read this. after all your about to sack 75 of them.

I am also told Helen Briggs is seen less by staff, she is changed woman. They can remember a much more pleasant Mrs Briggs who would warmly greet staff, but sadly no more.

Mrs Briggs once told the Guardian the "Council is Lean and Mean" what an extraordinary way to describe a public body, but not far from the truth!

Rutland County Council Chief Executive Helen Briggs Seek and Hide 2

Rutland County Council Chief Executive Helen Briggs
Seek and Hide 2
Helen Briggs 5 weeks into
what was then her new job at
Rutland County Council
Rutland County Council is still hiding the 2010 bank statements for the £19.6 million of public money that it has stashed away.
It makes no sense that the public are having to suffer spending cuts when the Council has got so much money on deposit.
Rutland and Melton Conservative Association has set a very good example by putting its bank statements in the public domain.
Would Rutland County Council please inform us when all of the 2010 bank statements requested on 20 January 2011 will be ready for collection.
Jo Goodliffe
(Jo, Rutland and Melton Conservative Association may not be aware their statements are available for the public to see)

Is The Chief Executive of Rutland County Council a simpleton when it comes to FaceBook?

Is The Chief Executive of Rutland County Council a simpleton when it comes to Facebook?

It has been brought to my attention Helen Briggs is annoyed I published content from her Facebook and

Cllr Nick Wainwright's, new application "I share sex with friends"

She is accusing me of breaching her privacy.

Facebook is within the public domain and if I do republish any content it is no different from republishing a letter she may have written and was publish in a news paper.

I learnt the hard way and my Facebook is set to private, to the extent my friends and family can not see who are my friends.

If the Chief Executive and other Councillors want a private life then they should consider their usage of social networking site that are in the public domain.
