2010 Audi R8 Quattro V10 White For Sale Leicestershire Police

R8 Quattro V10

Leicestershire Police is giving members of the public the chance to buy a £95,000 dream car.

The Audi R8 two-seater sports car was seized by the Force as part of a money laundering investigation.

The car subsequently formed part of a Confiscation Order granted at Leicester Crown Court in June this year.

Today (Friday, September 7) it is on public sale on Leicestershire Police’s eBay shop.

The Force hopes the story will prompt members of the public to pass on information about others who could be living lavish lifestyles through criminal means.

Detective Inspector Paul Wenlock leads the Force’s Economic Crime Unit. He said: “We, working together with our partner agencies, will ensure that criminals do not profit from their crimes.

“We will use all of our criminal and civil powers to strip offenders of their ill gotten gains.

“Following a court order being granted the goods we have seized are sold with the proceeds going back into the public purse. This money is used to fund the fight against financial crime.

“We are very proud that we were the first Force in the country to open an eBay shop. It allows members of the public to bid directly for these items, and usually raises more for the public purse than sending the goods to traditional auctions.”

The car listed on eBay and on display today (Friday 7th September) was seized from a Leicestershire man, who could not explain how over £130,000 in cash had passed through his bank accounts. He pleaded guilty at court to an offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

DI Wenlock added: “Investigations like this are often sparked by a call from a suspicious neighbour or work colleague. If somebody you know appears to be living an extravagant lifestyle which is beyond their means, then we would like to hear from you.

“It could be that they are involved in burglary, theft, fraud or drug dealing. Your call could assist in putting them before the courts and ensuring they are deprived of their criminal assets.

“You can call Leicestershire Police on 101 or you can call Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”

Leicestershire Police works closely with both the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) to ensure criminals do not profit from their crimes.

Sonia Gilhespy, a Crown Advocate from CPS East Midlands, working for the regional asset recovery team, said: “The law allows us to ensure that criminals do not profit from their crimes. Legislation under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) enables us to prove in court how much an offender has amassed from their criminal activities, and secure orders for this to be recovered from the offender. This can vary from small amounts from petty thieves to hundreds of thousands from major drug dealers and fraudsters.

“We can obtain court orders to freeze their assets, get monies from their bank accounts and make them sell their houses. If people try to conceal their assets and don’t pay up, they get sent to prison and will still owe the money when they get released.

“Our message to these criminals is that we will leave no stone unturned to find and confiscate their assets to ensure that crime does not pay.”

A spokesman for HMCTS said: "We are committed to working closely with our Criminal Justice partners to ensure all confiscation orders are enforced in a timely and efficient manner in order to maximise the amount of money we recover from criminals under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA)."

Cllr Adam Lowe and Leicestershire Constabulary Special Constable, I am not a Prat!

Once again Councillor Adam Lowe and one of Leicestershires finest Special Constables writes to me calling me a prat again! Its bad enough having the Councils Deputy Mayor Cllr Haworth swearing me in Tesco.

I think there are members of Oakham Town Council who are now resigned to the fact I am not going to
shut up and stop exposing their "spend as we like policy",  The seem to lack any inteligence and resort to a barrage of personal insults in private and now it seems in public.

I feel Mr Lowe is find it stressful since his buddy Inspector Monks was moved from Oakham Police Station.

Below is the offending opening line of Cllr Lowes email:

Subject:

we can go together, anyway you are a prat, I too have the freedom of expression......

A short while later I received another email from Cllr Lowe asking if I wanted him to resign:

So Martin do you want me to resign it is up to you now?

Adam

At first I said it up to him but now I have given it time and say yes.

Leicestershire Police Support Hate Crimes.

Readers of my blog will know for over two years, I have been subjected to some of the most terrible hate crimes.

I have during that time handed letter after letter in at Oakham Police Station.

During the May Elections this included the illegal election posters display around Rutland's Greetham Ward.
One was even displayed close by the home of Conservative Candidate Roger Begy's home. He said I was stupid because I did not know where he lived? We all know this information is displayed on all election documents.

I handed one of the posters marked into Oakham Police station and one at Rutland County County Council. Sgt Fosters was meant to deal with these, he took no action.

A few days later I received two letters one contained a copy of this marked poster and the other a piece of homophobic hate male. I took these to Oakham police station. It was clear to me this had been sent to me via the police or Rutland County Council.  One had a clear post mark, Easter Saturday posted in the South Midlands Sgt Foster once again was meant to deal with this he did nothing.

It reminded me of the computer I had traced that was used to post offensive messages from Rutland County Councils Chambers. Sgt Dickson was meant to deal with that, he had a clear ID of the user but no action was taken and I was not informed of anything.

Earlier this year I asked for the return of the evidence I have handed into the police station I was told by Sgt Foster they did not know where it was.

I can understand the possible loss of one piece of evidence but all of it handed in at various dates over a two year period?

Today I had to hand in the most recent letter and took the precaution of recording the visit to Oakham Police Station. As I placed the letter in the evidence bag you can clearly here the person dealing with the evidence saying, "this makes a change from the past when you would normally hand it in and it would vanish"

This is an utter disgrace and clearly shows me Inspector Johnny Monks sanctioned the loss of the previous evidence. He was fully aware of my complaints so it would be impossible for him not to know what was going on.

The question is why who are Leicestershire Constabulary Protecting the person responsible for a number of crimes.

Is the hate mail coming from Oakham Police Station or Rutland County Council? whoever is sending it or has knowledge of who is sending it clearly has a high profile or why would the police seek to hamper their own investigations?

Its clear to me the police have been happy to allow me to suffer over two years of hate.

Leicestershire Constabulary say they stamp out hate crimes, my arse do  they!

I think it is about time Leicestershire Constabulary brought in another force to investigate what has been going on here in Rutland.

And Roger Begy Leader of Rutland County Council and the returning officer Helen Briggs have a lot to answer or regarding conduct at the last election.

Pharmaceutical companies are experimenting with pharming – genetically engineering plants to produce useful and valuable drugs. Currently undergoing field trials are tomato plants that produce a vaccine for Alzheimer’s disease and potatoes that immunise against hepatitis B. Many more plant-made-pharmaceuticals are being developed in laboratories around the world.

However, the techniques employed to insert genes into plants are within reach of the amateur…and the criminal. Policing Genes speculates that, like other technologies, genetic engineering will also find a use outside the law, with innocent-looking garden plants being modified to produce narcotics and unlicensed pharmaceuticals.

The genetics of the plants in your garden or allotment could become a police matter…
