DFID helps the work of the Fairtrade Foundation through support we provide to the global Fairtrade system. DFID has a £12 million Programme Partnership Arrangement (2010-11 to 2013-14) with Fairtrade International, the umbrella organisation that unites labelling initiatives and networks of producer organisations. DFID's support is focused on strengthening, broadening and deepening the activities of Fairtrade International.
DFID also promotes the work of the Fairtrade Foundation through our support to Fairtrade Fortnight each year. This year, DFID Ministers visited companies and groups that promote Fairtrade, ahead of Fairtrade Fortnight.

Ex Oakham Town Councillor Alan Walters... he wont because he belonged to the wrong party - labour!

Resigned Oakham Town Councillor Alan Walter,
speaking at the Co-op Oakham today
Said he was tempted to stand in Rutland County Council Elections on May 5th
but he wont because he belonged to the wrong party - labour!

I always wondered why we have no Labour Councillors. They give up before they even try.

At least a few Lib / Dems and Independents give it a go.....

Labours Rutland and Melton’s Mr Morgan out about in Oakham

Labours Rutland and Melton’s Mr Morgan, chat to shoppers yesterday in Oakham.

Why do we freeze here in Rutland, when you send the winter fuel allowance to expatriates living in Spain and other warm countries.

Mr Morgan was unaware this happened.

To be fair if you are old and live in the Algarve at the moment it’s about 2 degrees cooler than the East Midlands. So if you are used to very hot weather during summer 19 or 20 degrees can feel cold.
