How sad is this person. At 4.03am they are still thinking of me whilst I am fast asleep.

It's getting very funny at the moment, someone put a brilliant poster up around Greetham telling the world what they thought about Brookes. Poor Brookesy, he hasn't got any transport so they're still plastered all over the villages!

Conservative Roger Begy's supporters, Litter Rutland Countryside with posters of hate

Conservative Roger Begy's supporters, Litter Rutland Countryside with posters of hate

It is an absolute disgrace, Tory supporters have littered many of Rutland's finest tourist attractions throughout  the Greetham Ward. The Countryside is a place for all to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

I do not or does anyone else expect to be confronted by political attacks, whilst out enjoying the peace of our countryside.

I think this clearly shows sorry state of the Rutland Conservatives needing to resort to this disgusting behaviour.

When you vote on May 5th, don't vote For a Rutland Conservative a very unique form of Conservative.

Rutland County Councillor Conservative Roger Begy's political suicide? May Elections

Conservative Roger Begy's political suicide?

The post lady delivered me another suspicious letter, so I opened it carefully I found it contained a poster full of inaccurate statements.

I took the letter to Rutland County Council, I was told to take it to the police, it is my view the poster breaches election law.

I also took a copy to the Rutland Times, they told me they had seen the poster displayed in public.

I then arranged a lift in a car to go and see if any were still on display.

Many were on display in Greetham, Conservative Roger Begy must be as blind a bat as one was displayed opposite his home, another was also displayed on the official parish notice board belonging to Greetham Parish Council the same at Stretton both places Mr Begy is a parish councillor.

I question why these posters have remained for days on official notice boards?

There is evidence the person responsible for displaying these posters was also responsible for the posting of the air ambulance posters. as you will see from the photographs they are both fixed using white cable staples.

I am also aware of malicious rumours relating to my employment history. A comment was also posted on my blog stating I was sacked for theft. This is very untrue. The posters displayed are leading voters to believe this maybe true. I have spoke to my previous employer Richard Cook of Grafters of Oakham, He will be very happy to let anyone know, I was not dismissed and he was very concerned people are spreading this untrue allegation.

Above is Mrs Smith? I don't believe that is her name. I visited Greetham Community Centre and she was very abusive towards me, I don't know her, she clearly knew me. Amongst all the abuse, she blamed me for destroying Oakham? quite an achievement if it was a true statement.

Whilst at the Community Centre I surprised Oakham resident and Conservative Bully Mr Baker turned up and joined in the abuse. I attempted to reason with these people, by saying you may not like me, can you not understand how your behaviour is damaging Roger Begy. The answer from Mr Baker was no everyone knows your mad!

Mr Baker assaulted me in Oakham high street last year and Oakham police said the cctv was facing the wrong way, at that incident Mr Baker said some things that have been repeated in comments on this blog and in hate mail.

I really think these local Conservatives have something serious to hide.

Mrs Smith asked me not to publish her photograph of her shouting abuse at me, I decided to ignore her request due to her behaviour.

If anyone knows her real names please let me know.

Nominations Rutland County Council Elections Greetham Ward

Nominations Rutland County Council Elections Greetham Ward

This is the ward I am hoping to win, for many years now this has been Conservative Leader Roger Begy's Ward.

I like many people in Rutland believe it is time for change.

If you chat to people in Greetham you will hear stories from woman who claim to have be subjected to bullying. Property issues and I assume these are all true because when I mentioned one relating to property in Greetham, to a Oakham resident they immediately named the victim.

One Greetham resident said "You are very brave to stand against Roger Begy"

I can't imagine why?

I have delivered individual signed leaflets to all of Greetham and will be delivering soon to the other villages of the Greetham Ward.

I make no big claims and make a simple promise to serve the people of the Greetham ward. in a selfless manner.

I am also returning to Oakham Town Council, where I will fight to cut the extravagant spending if Upppingham Town Council can function with a income of £80,000 about the amount Oakham Town Council spends on Administration! Oakham Town Council can do much better.

Rutland Matters Do Not Put Recent Progress at Risk Rutland Conservatives

Today leaflets have dropped through Rutland's doors.

Contradicting what Rutland county Councillor Roger Begy Conservative said to the local press it now appears we do have have a political group to blame for the mess Rutland County Council finds itself in.

Mr Begy told the Rutland Times the Council was not political.

But his junk mail tells a different story of fiction and fantasy.

Conservative Leader Roger Begy now says "Rutland Council has made massive progress under the Conservatives. This has been achieved by hard work, careful budgeting and determination to keep a lid on your council tax.

What he fails to say is we are the highest taxed in the country and the government has given them a grant to keep the tax down, this has nothing to do with any work he claims to have completed.

Careful budgeting? just hours before a meeting they found a million pounds how is that being careful?

He then goes on to say "I believe we can achieve much more over the next four years but I need the support of a strong Conservative Team. At the election in May, please think carefully and play your part in Rutland's continued progress by supporting your local Conservative candidate.

No thanks we don't need councillors in cabinet who think their thick, when it comes to important Rutland issues and drunken councillor staggering around John Street and other bullies

We need more Councillor who will really serve Rutland. We currently have some very good outnumbered independents and a liberal, lets see some competition at the May Elections and hopefully the near £20,000 allowance will go to a new leader.

He claims the main achievements of his council is affordable homes in Uppingham, taking the credit from Spire Homes. New Business units in Oakham built and improved Recycling at a dump. What a load of rubbish.

Don't forget the 125 staff they sacked over the last 2 or three months.
And doubling the cost for care of the elderly and sick.

And ignoring the shops who serve the community dwindling away each week.

He then dredges up information as far back as 1997 to bash the Lib Dems and Independents.

What he forgets is some of his Conservative chums served as Independents at that time he highlights as failure. They seem to jump political ship as and when it suits them.

NOW MR BEGY HAS GONE PUBLIC AND DECLARED THERE IS A POLITICAL DIVIDE AT RUTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL AND ADMITS HIS CONSERVATIVE GROUP ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COUNCIL AS IT IS NOW, WE ALL KNOW WHO NOT TO VOTE FOR AT THE MAY ELECTIONS.

Of course there is a chance he and others like in the past may be elected unopposed.

Don't forget Mr Begy was also found guilty of not respecting members of the public by Standards for England.

Case Summary - Rutland County Council

Case no.SBE-06880-YMBGV SBE-07068-2XX5G
Member(s):Councillor Roger Begy
Date received:14 Aug 2009
Date completed: 12 Nov 2009

Allegation:

The member failed to treat others with respect.

Standards Board outcome:

The ethical standards officer found that the member failed to comply with the Code, but in the circumstances of the case, no further action needed to be taken.

Case Summary

The complainant alleged that Councillor Roger Begy failed to treat her with respect at two public events.
The complainant alleged Councillor Begy raised his hand toward her in a menacing manner at a public meeting held on 13 June 2009.  She also alleged that Councillor Begy called her a ‘prat’ while attending the opening ceremony of Oakham’s newly built public toilets on 22 June 2009.
On 13 June 2009 Councillor Begy waved his finger in front of the complainant’s face while being critical of her. However, the ethical standards officer did not consider that he did so in a menacing manner. The ethical standards officer did consider that during the conversation Councillor Begy mimicked the complainant’s voice and actions in a manner that was unnecessarily rude.
On 22 June 2009 Councillor Begy, on seeing the complainant appear wearing a large placard that was critical of Rutland County Council, said ‘Oh god, what a prat.’
The ethical standards officer considered that Councillor Begy’s conduct had fallen below that expected of an elected member and that he had failed to treat the complainant with respect on both 13 June 2009 and 22 June 2009.
However, the ethical standards officer noted the context in which Councillor Begy’s conduct took place and accepted it had not been his intention to deliberately offend the complainant. The ethical standards officer considered it important that Councillor Begy has recognised that some of his behaviour was not appropriate and regretted any offence his actions may have caused. In these circumstances, the ethical standards officer considered that no further action need be taken.

Relevant paragraphs of the Code of Conduct

The allegations in the case relate to paragraph 3(1) of the Code of Conduct. Paragraph 3(1) states that a member must “treat others with respect”.

Rutland County Council Roger Begy

It is good to see the leader of Rutland County Council Roger Begy takes time to reply to peoples correspondence.

The following email was forwarded to me, it is good to see even Mr Begy can't spell.

I hope his friends and critics of mine take note, when they refer to me as a illiterate retard!

Rutland County Council Investments Hellen Briggs and Roger Begy

It would appear someone is not happy Rutland County Council's Investments are public knowledge.

It has prompted a response from Helen Briggs Chief Executive of Rutland County Council

The response to my e-mail from Mrs Briggs is gratefully received.

I am pleased to hear, the member of the public is receiving copies of statements.

Please can I also be emailed copies FIO request.

At the meeting the member of public made a very public request, to see the statements and this request was refused outright by Mrs Briggs, why does the public always need to resort to FIO.

What does Mrs Briggs and our council  have to hide?

The Council does not listen to the public and it is not transparent.

The email does not explain why Council Leader Roger Begy lied.

At  a previous public meeting "the council had received all the £1,000,000 invested in Iceland"

I can not see how it is possible for either me or other members of the public to have heard incorrectly?

Rutland County Council does not listen to the public and it is not transparent. Councillor Gale seems to be the only Councillor listening to the public. At Wednesdays meeting he mentioned the majority of the public he meets, say their council is not listening.

The information quoted in Mr Brookes email of January 22 was provided as part of freedom of information request from a member of the public and reflected the position as at the 17 January.  At that time the amount owed to the Council from Heritable Bank was £546,000 on an initial investment of £1,000,000.

At the Public Budget consultation both the Leader and Chief Executive made the audience aware that we are advised the Council will get back over time 85% i.e. £850,000 and that to date we have received about 50% i.e. £500,000.

On 18 January a further repayment of £47,000 was received bringing the total repayment received to date to £501,000 and the balance owed £499,000.  We have therefore received just over 50% of the original £1m invested.

Surplus cash balances are invested in such a way to generate maximum income whilst leaving enough flexibility to bring cash back into the Council’s main bank account at short notice.  This is the reason for the range of interest rates earned, i.e. the longer the money is invested for the higher the interest rate.

The request made to see copies of bank statements has not been refused, the Council are in the process of compiling the information.

Rutland County Council £19.634.173.80 cash investements

RUTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL

INVESTMENTS AS AT 17 JANUARY 2011

Rutland County Council has public money invested with the following organisations:

HSBC - Sterling Liquidity Fund
HSBC - Money Market
Coventry Building Society
Lloyds TSB
Bank of Scotland
London Borough of Brent
Skipton Building Society
Santander
Nationwide Building Society
Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation
Barclays Bank
Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation
Clydedale Bank
Yorkshire Building Society
Principality Building Society
NMRothschild&Sons
Heritable Bank - ln Administration

£19.634.173.80 is the total sum invested and interest rates are very poor these range from 0.33% in the HSBC (a total disgrace) to the higher 1.8% paid by both Lloyds TSB and The Bank of Scotland.

What interests me the most is Heritable Bank this pays 6.09%

This is  a Landsbanki owned Scottish Bank,

The Leader of Rutland County Council Roger Begy said we had lost £1,000,000.00 in this bank.

Last year he told the public "we had got it all back"

This week The Leader of the Council Roger Begy said he never said such a thing?

He said Rutland County Council had recovered £850,000 and it was likely the Council will loose £125,000
This was confirmed by Helen Briggs Chief Executive.

Why are they lying?

A freedom of information request reveals there is only £546,096.29 deposited in this account where is the other  £453903.71

I am aware a member of the public has made a Freedom of Information request to see hard copies of Statements relating to all the above investments. Rutland County Council has refused to provide these. Why? What do they have to hide? This is public money.

I am not sure who Rutland County Council employs these days to control finances, but surely this needs to be looked into.

Why are the public being asked how should we save £650,000 of important service when there is this amount of money invested.

£650,000 is a small amount of the total sum the council intends to cut, another 100+ staff will be going soon.
