Travel 4 Rutland

Rutland County Council staff are doing their bit to help reduce
congestion in Oakham Town Centre.

Nothing new really something James from planning has been
doing for many years, bikes and car pools.

Now I realise why the planning department is so slow, they
cycle everywhere.

Rutland county council is encouraging staff to use public
transport that should help reduce staff costs, sackings for
poor time keeping.

They are also encouraged to use bicycles and car sharing as
modes of transport into work.

Does this mean Cllr Roger Beggy will be sharing his big
jag with a cleaner?

Rutland County Council has also purchased a pool of bikes

My Strange Follower

Dear Strange Follower,

I have bigger feet!

I have sent a email cancelling order, if they goods are coming here I will refuse them.
If they are going to yours you will get caught and ID theft is serious.

Go and get help and leave me alone, It does not bother me you doing this but I wonder why you feel the need to continue to harass me.

You will get caught and you know some of the material you have sent me has broken the law.

And once again you are causing a innocent company to loose money.

Another Group or Committee for Rutland

Rutland County CouncilImage by diamond geezer via Flickr
This week local business group Oakham Chamber of Trade suggested it should merge with Oakham Town Partnership, because of low membership.

How many more groups or committees does Rutland need?

Now they want to set up a group described as informal, to bash the traders at the West End of Oakham Town Centre.

Traders up the other end of town don't like how the west end looks . So today I took a look at the other end of Town and

concentrated on Mill Street . Swans owned by Cllr Peter Jones has a mix of signage. The street looks tidy, lots of high class outlets, another soon to open offering free canapes on the opening day.

Cllr Peter Jones was disappointed only 25 traders turned up to a meeting at Oakham Castle last week.

This meeting was organised originally as a public meeting and at the last minute the press announced online it was closed to the public.

Would it not be good to involve the residents of Oakham before any changes were made afterall they are the customers.

I feel this is an exercise once again for Rutland County Council to dictate what it wants for Oakham, not what the resident or traders require.

Also if you are a hard working independent trader the last thing you would want to do after a hard days work is sit and listen  to a Councillor telling you, your shop is looking shabby.
