Most places are closed here in Oakham for Bank Holiday's

A few shops like Mint Sweets and Toys in Northgate and Fat Face, Tesco and a few of the coffee shops and pubs are open.

The Tourist bus runs mostly empty.

In a bid to attract visitors to the town Rutland County Council closes the castle and museum.

There is a quality market in Victoria Hall.

It will be officially opened by Oakham Mayor Adam Lowe.

The first Stamford Quality Market will take place at Stamford Arts Centre on Sunday, October 27 followed by events on November 17 and December 15.

Oakham Visitor Info Point, Victoria Hall, Oakham, Rutland, Awaits a Flock of Bird Fair Visitors



A Info point has been opened to serve a flock of visitors from the Bird Fair.

The info point is open today at Victoria Hall, High Street, Oakham.

Despite the town council spending thousands on new Gazebo's they
were not welcome at the bird fair.

I was not sure who was running the info point until I turned up
ad quickly departed after one of the nutty councillors attempted to dance with
me!



Amongst the Town Councils info relating to Oakham I found
Cllr Lucas was using the opportunity to promote her club.
