Greetham Polling Station Rutland County Elections

Fortunately I know where the community centre is in Greetham so I was able to find the Polling Station. No thanks to any statuary signs. I can only assume Mrs Briggs had not been to visit this polling station before 3pm today. I spoke to the presiding officer who told me everyone knows where the community centre is and he may be able to erect a sign.

I found a small sign in the car park, I was amused by the pegs, is that Pink for me and Blue for Conservative Begy?

Early evening the sign above appeared in Great Lane.

I was pleased to say all signs of posters supporting Conservative Roger Begy and attacking me appeared to have been removed from Greetham. Disappointingly new posters had been displayed in Pickworth and Stretton.

The Polling Stations at Clipsham and Stretton were very well signed.

I was again amused to observe voters at Clipsham Olive Branch, A question was asked of the teller, I don't like either candidate what do I do? the tellers response was spoil the paper or leave it blank.  I have noticed there appears to be a good turn out in Rutland most likely due to people wanting to vote in the referendum rather than the local elections. This could be heard being discussed at a Oakham polling station.

Conservative Roger Begy Supporters a big thank you Greetham Ward

Conservative Roger Begy Supporters a big thank you Greetham Ward.

A new batch of posters has been posted all over the Greetham ward once again very unfairly attacking me.
Most people know I like to recycle and so I found a use for some of the posters very useful on the last day of my campaigning. I removed the offending text and placed the full colour photograph and details they kindly printed up in various parts of the ward. I can not afford colour printing so this was very kind of you.

is that with chips or mash?

If Alan Walters posters are anything to go by he is heading for a victory at today's election. His ward is full of posters this includes Jinkys Pub in Melton Road who displaying them along with Helen Penders both independent candidates. This poster is one of many displayed at the Odd House Pub. I not sure Oakham has ever seen such a huge poster campaign.

Helen Briggs Chief Executive and Rutland County Council Returning Officer

Helen Briggs Chief Executive and Rutland County Council Returning Officer was seen and covertly photographed standing outside Independent Candidate Helen Pender's home for over minutes last night?
Was she inspecting Ms Penders election poster?

Vote, Richard Swift, Liberal Democrat, Oakham South East Ward, Rutland County Council, Election

Vote,  Richard Swift, Liberal Democrat, Oakham South East Ward, Rutland County Council, Election

Finaly Richard Swifts lealfet arrived, I was pleased to read my single vote is not wasted.

Mr Swift says "I am standing for election because, like many people, I am dissatisfied with the way that the current council operates. It does not provide succinct, rational replies to the questions that are raised against their policies."

Most readers know I agree with this statement and this relates to both Rutland County Council and Oakham Town Council and suffer the consequences for saying just that.

I hope people will vote out all the Tory old dead wood and then kick out the chief executive and we can truly have a new council for the people.

Records show there is not much hope, this will happen because those who don't like the council don't vote.

So if you want real change pleas vote on May 5th and don't vote Conservative.

I met Mr Munton one of the new Conservatives candidates, he seemed a good man, I wondered if he knew what he was letting himself into.

In our ward we have a small chance to help the change much needed, you only have to place one vote.
Don't bother with Mr Plews Conservative, he has done nothing for our ward over the past four years, sorry he did nick something a few weeks ago, I had already sorted new grass on the verges of Woodland View once the little build is completed. Mr Munton can continue to look after his lorries.

Martin Brookes Independent Candidate Rutland County Council Elections Greetham Ward

Martin Brookes Independent Candidate Rutland County Council Elections Greetham Ward
Canvassing the Greetham Ward today. I came across more of Conservative Roger Begy's supporters hate posters. surprisingly once again posters can be seen very close to his home. After three e-mails he has not distanced himself from these posters.

This gentleman is the Parish Clerk of Clipsham Parish Council and yes that is the official parish council notice
board. The Parish Clerk is responsible for displaying official notices in this board. So I asked him why the official notice of the election was not displayed and why a poster attacking me was displayed. He was unwilling to give me a answer, "he said a lot of things are going on at the moment and he was very unhappy about them and he was unwilling to tell me more" I do feel sorry for this man, He said he would take down the poster and return to his gardening. He is also the church warden.

Canvassing at Clipsham Hall

Canvassing at The Travellers Site Greetham if you see a dog behind a gate
don't enter just call the owner the dogs are true guard dogs.

Oh there is another of those nasty
Conservative hate posters, this time its Stretton.
Not removing it because most people said its
very nasty and childish and to be expected from
the Nasty Party. Rutland's Policing pledge has been
removed and put on the floor?

Another nasty party poster attacking me
not far from Conservative Roger Begy's home
in Greetham

The first of the Conservative supporters
hate poster at Thistleton

Here is another poster in Thistleton notice the air ambulance poster
this is a shameful link, but then not to be unexpected, the
person(s) who behaves like this often pretend to be do-gooders.

Another poster, free publicity in Pickworth
thanks to the hateful Conservative supporters of Roger Begy

More evidence of the Rutland Conservatives littering our countryside.

Oakham North West Ward Paul Beech

This morning I received e-mails from one of the candidates
for the Oakham North West West Ward.
Paul Beech Independent, Of course independent is questionable?
when records show he and his wife proposed Conservative Peter Jones
at the 2007 elections. I don't want to lower myself to the behaviour
I have been subjected to for some time now by local Conservative
supporters including Conservative Roger Begy's supporters and their
recent poster campaign.

I would like to point out to voter Mr Beech's lack of manners and
disrespect towards me.

After I questioned why Mr Beech was sending me so many emails this
morning along with a request he refrains from refering to me as Brooksey
or Brookes he sent the following e-mail from his Leicester University
Computer where he struggles to study criminology.(facebook entry)
As you can see he continues to show a total lack of respect and calls
me once again Brooksey. If voters of the Oakham North West Ward expect
respect, can I suggest they put there cross in Richard Gales box.

Email received 9.39am 21:04:2011

I can promise you won’t get any more Brooksey

I did warn Mr Beech it may not be advisable for him, to be sending his e-mails during his campaign.
So I don't think he can not complain when I publish the last one to show voters his character.

Postal Votes Rutland County Council Elections

Today I attend the opening of the first batch of Postal Votes received for the May 5th Election.

This is the first time I have seen and witnessed the process.

All those attending agree to secrecy requirements, something to do with the Representation of the Peoples Act 1983 (as amended)

When a voter returns their envelope to the council it is placed in a sealed ballot box.

At the daily opening the envelopes are removed from the ballot boxes and sorted into wards by counting officers and passed to two counting officers.

The envelopes are opened and numbers checked against a list.

The slip with the signature is removed and placed in one tray, these are then passed through a scanning machine to verify the signature and date of birth.

(In past elections it is very common the voter has not completed this section and the vote is rejected, so if you do use a postal vote it is very important for you to read all the instructions carefully. Mistakes can not be rectified if you are unsure you can always give Rutland County Council a call for advice)

When all have been verified the envelope contain the ballot paper are opened, the counting officer check the number against a list and and the ballot papers placed down are then counted and placed in a large envelope and stored in a secure place until the count.

Mr Pook assures me not under his pillow.

Conservative Roger Begy's supporters, Litter Rutland Countryside with posters of hate

Conservative Roger Begy's supporters, Litter Rutland Countryside with posters of hate

It is an absolute disgrace, Tory supporters have littered many of Rutland's finest tourist attractions throughout  the Greetham Ward. The Countryside is a place for all to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

I do not or does anyone else expect to be confronted by political attacks, whilst out enjoying the peace of our countryside.

I think this clearly shows sorry state of the Rutland Conservatives needing to resort to this disgusting behaviour.

When you vote on May 5th, don't vote For a Rutland Conservative a very unique form of Conservative.

Rutland County Councillor Conservative Roger Begy's political suicide? May Elections

Conservative Roger Begy's political suicide?

The post lady delivered me another suspicious letter, so I opened it carefully I found it contained a poster full of inaccurate statements.

I took the letter to Rutland County Council, I was told to take it to the police, it is my view the poster breaches election law.

I also took a copy to the Rutland Times, they told me they had seen the poster displayed in public.

I then arranged a lift in a car to go and see if any were still on display.

Many were on display in Greetham, Conservative Roger Begy must be as blind a bat as one was displayed opposite his home, another was also displayed on the official parish notice board belonging to Greetham Parish Council the same at Stretton both places Mr Begy is a parish councillor.

I question why these posters have remained for days on official notice boards?

There is evidence the person responsible for displaying these posters was also responsible for the posting of the air ambulance posters. as you will see from the photographs they are both fixed using white cable staples.

I am also aware of malicious rumours relating to my employment history. A comment was also posted on my blog stating I was sacked for theft. This is very untrue. The posters displayed are leading voters to believe this maybe true. I have spoke to my previous employer Richard Cook of Grafters of Oakham, He will be very happy to let anyone know, I was not dismissed and he was very concerned people are spreading this untrue allegation.

Above is Mrs Smith? I don't believe that is her name. I visited Greetham Community Centre and she was very abusive towards me, I don't know her, she clearly knew me. Amongst all the abuse, she blamed me for destroying Oakham? quite an achievement if it was a true statement.

Whilst at the Community Centre I surprised Oakham resident and Conservative Bully Mr Baker turned up and joined in the abuse. I attempted to reason with these people, by saying you may not like me, can you not understand how your behaviour is damaging Roger Begy. The answer from Mr Baker was no everyone knows your mad!

Mr Baker assaulted me in Oakham high street last year and Oakham police said the cctv was facing the wrong way, at that incident Mr Baker said some things that have been repeated in comments on this blog and in hate mail.

I really think these local Conservatives have something serious to hide.

Mrs Smith asked me not to publish her photograph of her shouting abuse at me, I decided to ignore her request due to her behaviour.

If anyone knows her real names please let me know.

Oakham Town Council Election Nominations No Election for Oakham Voters

Oakham Town Council Election Nominations No Election for Oakham Voters

12 seats 7 nominations, Two for me. Is this a sign of what the residents really think about Oakham Town Council?

Many people I speak to say what is the point of Oakham Town Council.

It cost so much of their money. I will do my best to reduce the extravagant spending and try and get future council tax bills cut.

Is it time for this council to be dissolved?

Councillor Dewis says its no longer the old boys club, so what is its purpose?

I am concerned the council won't be able to function with 6 councillor, no disrespect to those who have failing health due to age or other issues, what will happen when there is not a quorum due to their ill health.

Councillor Haworth has not been well recently he has been seen staggering around Tesco unshaved, filling his basket with pot noodles and benefiting from Coca Cola's buy 2 get free 2 offer.

I suspect some people may be waiting to be co-opted preferring to take the easier route into the council. Like ex Councillor Paul Beech I don't support co-opting. I will vote against any co-option.

I am disappointed there is no election. I  will do my best to stop a few people squandering public money.

Here is the list of persons nominated:
