It’s All Happening in Oakham This Week, Elections

Helen Pender has been locked out of Oakham Town Council.
I know the feeling Helen after all, I am a Town Councillor
and I am not allowed in the office.

The Town Clerk is taking sick leave it is looking highly likely this could become long term.
An internal audit has been cancelled! I can’t see any reason why this could not go ahead. The AGM is set for the 12th May 2010 I raised the AGM at the end of the last council meeting,

Due to RATS performing upstairs at the same time as the planned AGM meeting of the town council we were asked to move the time of the AGM, of course we can’t do that the law would not allow us to change it so easily. The council can change the venue. I believe it may be held at the congregational church hall. As neither the Chairman, Deputy Chairman consults with me about council decisions I can’t be sure.

Tonight Election Fever hits Oakham at 7pm
debate at All Saint’s Church.
We are told the candidates from the three main parties will be present.

It is my view and other members of the public a church
is not an appropriate venue for political debate.

The Rector states his political independence from the candidates
or as is the case in the past our MP, when chairing these types of meetings.
I have heard many members of the public state otherwise.

Mr Duncan has been quoted in the past saying
he does not object to heckling.
How can people do this in the house of God?
We could pray?

If the BNP candidate is given time to speak I would most likely want to heckle him.
I would want to know why?
They have such an issue about GAY people.
His image of a Happy British Family makes no sense to me.
If this is true why would a happily married County Councillor feel the need to frequent the most,
smelly loo in Oakham? I don’t cottage, but if I did,
I would prefer to frequent the very clean one maintained by Oakham Town Council!
The one Rutland County Council maintains is a disgrace gas mask or clothes peg highly recommended.*

(*in my official or private capacity I am not condoning or promoting the missuse of any public facilty)

I am told the BNP candidate was not invited to speak in the church although he is a Christian .
The homophobic bigots on Oakham Town Council won’t be pleased.
You can not even write an express concern to the BNP in Rutland because of Rutland County Council censorship the BNP web site is blocked at the library along with Gaydar Radio!
Along with many other perfectly acceptable sites just for containing the word Gay.

The race is on for Number 10

Will it be a hung parliament?

Cllr Alan Walters Oakham Town Council NE Ward

'Mr Alan Walters has with immediate effect became an Oakham Town Councillor.'
(Rutland Radio News) according to RCC it's tomorrow!
I question this after I was elected unopposed
12th February 2010
the Town Clerk, Chairman and Deputy
all refused to allow me to sign my consent form until
3rd March 2010.
This was a blatant, interference of the electoral process.
I have now reported this action to the appropriate bodies.

I am expecting Mr Walters will become the council’s official photographer
and will also hold the responsible position of online forum advisor.
Mr Walters and his online friends do know who the F*** I am!

Will it all change for Britain
when we wake up on the morning of
7th May 2010

Gay MP Alan Duncan's election posters vandalised

Gay MP Alan Duncan's election posters vandalised
Submitted by NewsSystem on Thu, 04/15/2010 - 05:46 Pink News (UK)
Gay Tory MP Alan Duncan has been targeted by vandals who scrawled homophobic abuse across his election posters. Mr Duncan, who is standing again for election in Rutland, said the abuse was "abysmal behaviour".

I would say it is cowardly behaviour.
Maybe questions should be asked at Oakham Town Council, afterall they are homophobic.

MP Alan Duncan a walk in the park

Vote for change in Rutland?
Not much chance of change here in Rutland
Alan Duncan
Out walking today with a friend we stumbled across images of Mr Duncan.
I asked my friend would you be voting for Alan again she replied,
"I don't know but he is good looking could be a little taller"
I was asked my view today.
Mr Duncan is a very pleasant man,
the many times I have met him or corresponded with him
he come across as a very fair man.
What scares me is the people who stand behind him,
the ones who never leave Rutland and live there lives
with their eyes closedto the outside world.
Mr Duncan's comments about living on rations is still remembered.
£64,000 how nice that would be....
£65 a week JSA is a ration
He will get my vote if he promises to do more for the unemployed in Rutland

Fun of Job Search in Rutland and Leicestershire.

There are no employment services in Rutland.

Jobcentre Plus Flexible New Deal?

Jobcentre Plus Flexible New Deal?
Is it New I don't think so!

Dear Alan Duncan MP

I am writing to you, regarding the governments New Flexible Deal.

Sadly I can see no difference between New Deal or the New Flexible New Deal. Accept this time the Employment service is very keen to point out sanctions and more sanctions if a job seekers does not comply.

On my first visit to Job Links in Leicester, I joined a group in a room to watch a Power Point presentation about Job Links. I left with the impression Job Link was wonderful despite the dated image of their advertising I wonder how many of the job seekers ever purchased a 45rpm Single.

On my second visit I met my advisor Nadia, who is very polite and cant spell like me. so I am sure she will help me find employment.

On my third visit job search day for everyone who attends Job Links. There are six computers for everyone to use. A couple copies of the Leicester Mercury. Three folders of jobs printed from the government job site. Most printed in January and February, six jobs had past the closing date so I removed these for future reference.

Arriving early on Job search day I signed in and waited and waited in the crowd of people. Then I was spotted by Nadia who explained I must apply for three jobs and then wait for a member of a team to become free. I could not find three job in the Oakham area so I waited for a free advisor sometime later after the manger had made numerous loud requests to the staff to work quicker and hearing a advisor telling a man he had no chance of getting a job because of the way he smelt, I was seen and details entered onto a PC and off for another wait to get a form to claim my train fare.

So far Government has paid £36 in train fare. I don’t understand why. Job links is offering no more than I do in the library each day here in Oakham. Before going to Job Links I had applied for a Job at Burley Fires.

The advisors at Job links seem no more qualified than me to help find work. The Employment Service say they are meant to help us to find a job we want to keep, So why do the job folders have part-time cleaning jobs with hours as low as three hours.

I have attached the result of my second visit to Job Links.

Yours sincerely

Martin Brookes
