Rutland County Council Oakham South By-Election 19th August 2021 Conservative Candidate Leaflet Andy Burton

Rutland County Council Oakham South By-Election  19th August 2021 Conservative Candidate Leaflet Andy Burton

Our MP has been knocking on doors, not mine yet, this calling card was left at a friends house whilst they were out.

I can't remember a Rutland County Council election ever being fought so hard by both candidates.

Liberal Democrats Canvasing Oakham South Rutland County Council By Election August 2021

Liberal Democrats Canvasing Oakham South Rutland County Council By Election August 2021

Whilst I was out this evening enjoy dinner with friends Stephen canvasing for the Liberal Democrats called at my home. I was able to shout I am not at home through the RING door bell. Whilst my friend advised him to vote Conservative!

I must say this is the first time I have ever seen the Rutland and Melton Libdems work so hard for a seat.

Callers at doors and plenty of leaflets. The one annoying thing was the paid adverts that popped up in Instagram yesterday. I don't like political advert when I am looking at other peoples photographs.

A message from Libdem Rutland County Councillor Oakham South By-Election Leaflet for Candidate Paul Browne

Disclaimer for thick people: Various election leaflets are published on my blog for information purposes only. The publication of leaflets should not be seen as my personal support for any candidate affiliated or not to any political party standing for public office. Unless otherwise clearly stated.

I do not support the Conservative or Liberal Democrat in the forthcoming Rutland County Council By-Election.

I hope Cllr Joanna Burrows (Libdem)  finds this disclaimer is satisfactory.

Paul Browne Lib Dem Candidate Letter delivered to selected Oakham Residents for the Oakham South Rutland County Council By-Election 2021

Paul Browne Lib Dem Candidate Letter delivered to selected Oakham Residents for the Oakham South Rutland County Council By-Election 2021

Below is a copy of the letter, delivered by a good looking Lib Dem today.

I am no longer on the local mailing list since Cllr Gale Waler should have retired.

Although I remain on the National list.

The content of the letter is not that different from the leaflet delivered the other week.

The candidate still thinks as a Councillor you can decide what opens up in our vacant shops. If he is elected he has a lot to learn. He mentions a town full of charity shops and politicians.

Opticians reminds me of the time, when I was a town councillor and attempted to support that opinion, first I was verbally attacked in the street by a drunk friend of the landlords son, then Rutland County Councils planning wrote to me and quoted European law, that basically states no one could object to the change of use. I do often wonder why, The County Council is required to even consider or consult on any application these days, when European law is quoted and central government has taken away most local planning restrictions.

It would seem Mr Browne who claims to have been a expert in land and property law does not know the council cant tell landlords who they can let their property to.

The other point in his letter is a council can't sort out Oakham Medical Practice issues. Our MP can and although she is a Conservative she is trying and certainly helped me sort an issue.

I once used the services of Paul Browne solicitors to be fair to him I was duped into using one of his legal executives who was absolute crap and to this date over ten years later the issue has never been resolved. So he certainly won't be getting my vote.

Ms Joanna Burrows. Party: Liberal Democrats. Ward: Oakham South. Rutland County Council Has Written To Residents While returning from A Very Long Holiday in The USA

Ms Joanna Burrows Campaigning in 2015 for the Oakham North West Seat

Ms Joanna Burrows. Party: Liberal Democrats. Ward: Oakham South. Has Written To Residents While Returning from A Very Long Holiday in The USA.

I know this has upset residents who want to but cant travel to the states due to covid-19 restrictions.

I wont mention the holiday or it longevity, it is a sensitive subject for Ms Burrows. I won't repeat the allegations made by some residents about how Ms Burrows travel route had found her in America for a long period of time. I asked her a question on Facebook about the allegations and she refused to answer and unfriended me.

It is great one of my Oakham South Councillors has taken time dictate and have delivered the letter shown below. Very good quality paper and envelope. I wonder if this is paid for out of the allowance Rutland County Council paid when she was away?

I think Ms Burrows is a little cross with peoples allegations. Allegations which she says are lies, I accept her response to my question that she also originally mistook as an allegation. This evening she tells me: 'I am bloody back And I’ve finished quarantine. Joanna sent Today at 22:31

I am able to be green and reuse the envelope because it was not sealed.

The choice of font is dreadful and she was not elected back in 2018 it was 2019.

I don't dislike Ms Burrows it is a fact I once helped her with one of her unsuccessful election campaigns. I did not bother with the second attempt, because after the first she told me she did not really want to be a County Councillor. I will never understand Rutland Politics.

I am pleased Ms Burrows is going to push for a Greener Rutland, perhaps that is why she remains in America less flying = a lower carbon foot print.

I am pleased to read she is not going to give up.

She raises a question about the Railway Crossing here in Oakham, to be honest it is not something the County Council can deal with, that is Network Rail and if anyone has seen towns that are blighted by a bridge, they may not want it for Oakham, if a bridge was put in place it would need a long slope up. Personally I would suggest Rutland County Council should review all the old road signs and direct passing through traffic onto the bypass.

She then says why has the Conservative council not done anything to improve the town centre? I would add the Town Council into that question. It was not long ago that the Conservative council did make an attempt to improve the town centre and residents objected and the Town Council said nothing.

I can only speak for myself when it comes to the listening to residents, I find we have a much better council than a few years ago. I can message the leader and receive a good reply instead of very rude intimidating ones I used to receive from past leaders and deputies.

I am hoping Ms Borrows can keep battling on my behalf, as my Libdem councillor even if she finds herself thousands of miles away again, Of course, I do have another option the wonderful Oakham South Tory, Ian Razzle... or is that Razzell?

Oakham South Polling Station at Rutland County Library for the police and crime commissioner elections if you want to vote polling stations are open until 10pm

The funny Conservative has been campaigning hard.

The Labour and Liberal Democrat candidates appear to have forgotten Rutland not even a leaflet.

I googled both of them and found they are both Leicestershire Councillors so no surprise it appears they forgot Rutland.

Cllr Jean Denyer Oakham South appointed deputy Mayor of Oakham is she sitting on Oakham Town Council unlawfully?

Cllr Jean Denyer Oakham South appointed deputy Mayor of Oakham is she sitting on Oakham Town Council unlawfully?

A member of Oakham Town Council contacted me to let me know the newly appointed deputy Mayor resigned from Oakham Town Council in April 2021.

The public were not notified and the Oakham South Vacancy Notice was not published by Oakham Town Council.

NOTICE OF VACANCY

IN THE OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR

OAKHAM SOUTH WARD

OAKHAM TOWN COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

Pursuant to section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that as a

result of the resignation of Jean Denyer, a vacancy exists in the office of

Councillor for the South Ward of Oakham Town Council.

If by 13 May 2021 (14 days* after the date of this notice), a request for

an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning

Officer at Catmose, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 6HP by TEN electors for

the said Ward, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise

the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

MARK ANDREWS

RETURNING OFFICER

Date: 22 April 2021

After her resignation, Cllr David Romney then Chairman of Oakham Town Council spoke to her and persuaded her to withdraw her resignation. Unfortunately her resignation had been accepted.

No problem for Cllr Jean Denyer, there was already a vacancy the council could co-opt her back to the Oakham South ward and no one would notice she had departed for a few days.

I am guessing someone might have promised the role deputy mayor. A pointless role, because they have no powers.

The actions of Oakham Town Council may not be unlawful, it is highly unfair, it appears Jean did not have to go through the normal co-option process other applicants have to endure and was co-opted very quickly back onto the council on the 28th April 2021.

I find it odd, how can former magistrate Jean can be so easily manipulated by Oakham Town Council. She did not want to stand for election at our last local elections but she was persuaded and helped by Adam Lowes team to stand and they leafleted for her because they did not want me back on the council.
She had resigned once before that.

I think this once again proves Oakham Town Council has no interest in serving the community if it did it would not keep supporting members who are so unreliable like Jean Denyer.

Oakham Town Council say,

This week we meet Richard Fresia-Farrelly. Richard was co-opted on to the council in October 2020 and instantly became an active voice in meetings, working groups and committees. Richard is a joy to work alongside, he has a keen interest in the towns future and is empathetic and articulate. Richard says:
